CHARACTER/TONE OF VOICE EXERCISES

 

Apply different character traits and circumstances to these dialogues to achieve different interpretations: Ex. A B. Or B is waiting for something important.

DIALOGUE 1:

A: Do you have it?

B: Yeah.

A: Do you want it?

B: Yeah.

A: Here

DIALOGUE 2:

A: You’re late.

B: I know. I couldn’t help it.

A: I understand.

B: I know you would.

A: I have something for you.

B: Really? What?

A: This!

DIALOGUE 3:

A: Maybe her death will make a difference.

B: Maybe her death will make a difference.

DIALOGUE 4:

A: Don't you think you should make that clear to him?

B: I just don't know. Besides, maybe it's all in my imagination.

DIALOGUE 5:

A. Remember all the things I've done for you.

B. Yeah. That's why this is so difficult.

DIALOGUE 6:

A. Oh, Robbie! Why are you called Robbie? It's only your name that I dislike.

B. Call me your love, and I won't be Robbie any more. 

DIALOGUE 7:

A. I'll go no more. I am afraid to think what I have done; to look on it again I dare not.

B. The sleeping and the dead are but pictures. 

DIALOGUE 9:

A: Hi.

B: Hello

A: What are you doing tonight?

B: Oh, not much. How about you?

A: I haven't decided yet.

B: Well, I'll see you later.

A: OK

B: Good-bye

A: Good-bye
