Description
This course will examine the philosophy, strategies, and practices of English Vertical Teaming. Using the College Board's Advanced Placement Program to inform our direction, we will discuss ways in which teachers can work together across grade levels to create a coordinated and rigorous curriculum. We will discuss and "try on " the teambuilding strategies that create an environment in which collaboration and teamwork flourish. Strategies that can be adapted across grade level will be shared and modeled through a unit on multicultural literature. Participants will be asked to consider and share their plans for how this information can best be transferred back to their schools.
Preparation: Participants are encouraged to bring source material that they enjoy teaching.
